Well folks, it’s been a while. To me it seems like eternity, having had a hiatus from photography. More than a year has passed since I made changes or updates to this site. Part of the reason is there’s just way too much work, and the other is I just I seemed to have lost interest in the hobby. This isn’t unusual for me though. In fact, i’ve felt this way many times before.
I refer to this state of mind as the “bell-curve” phenomena.

Any hobby or interest to me is like a bell-curve. My level of interest gradually rises over time as I try to learn and discover new things. I spend sleepless nights doing research and watching youtube for a quick knowledge-on-demand type of stuff (so much so that I feel obsessed like a mad scientist). Once I’ve reached my peak (the highest level of the curve) this interest starts to dwindle down until I spend little to no time at all. The interest level starts to shoot back up when you realize that you are falling behind the curve (pun intended) and you need to learn, unlearn, or relearn old and new things.
My mentor once told me that the “enemy of great is not the bad, the enemy of great is the good”. Very true. And I’m not going to explain what that meant because if you are curious enough, you’ll try to figure it out on your own.
Anyway, I’m going to change the format of my website to be a blog-like site dedicated to 3 things I enjoy doing: Photography, Teaching (this is my profession by day... or night), and Food.
You’ll hear from me soon. Ciao and have a great 2010.
